Reverse Text
Reverse a string of text character by character — a quick, free tool that runs in your browser.
Reverse Text flips a string character by character, so 'hello' becomes 'olleh'. It's handy for puzzles, testing how software handles reversed strings, or creating a bit of obfuscated fun to paste into a chat.
How to use reverse text
- 1. Type or paste your text.
- 2. It's reversed character by character.
- 3. Copy the reversed string.
When to use Reverse Text
Puzzles and games
Create or solve reversed-word puzzles quickly.
Quick obfuscation
Reverse a message so it isn't readable at a glance.
Testing
Check how a field or script handles a reversed string.
What happens to several lines
The whole text is reversed as one string, line breaks included. So the last line comes out first, and each line is mirrored. If you want every line reversed but kept in its place, reverse the lines one at a time. To keep the words readable and only flip their order, use Reverse Word Order.
Frequently asked questions
Does it reverse letters or words?
This tool reverses individual characters. To reverse the order of whole words instead, use Reverse Word Order.
Will emoji and accents survive?
Yes. The text is reversed by visible characters, not by computer code units, so "Hi 👋🏽 🇷🇴" becomes "🇷🇴 👋🏽 iH" — the skin tone stays on the hand and the flag stays a flag.
Is my text uploaded?
No — it's reversed in your browser.
