How words are counted
Counting ignores capitals, so "The" and "the" are one entry. Apostrophes stay inside a word ("don't", "l’école"), while hyphens split it: "well-known" counts as "well" and "known". Numbers on their own are skipped. There's no stemming, so "run" and "runs" are listed separately. The 100 most frequent words are shown, most common first.
Reading the list
The top is almost always function words — the, and, of in English; și, de, la in Romanian. Look just below them for the content words: a noun or adjective far ahead of the others is the one to vary in your draft. For keyword density, divide a word's count by the total from Word Counter.
