Shuffle Lines
Randomly shuffle the order of lines in your text — perfect for randomising a list.
When you need a list in random order — drawing names, randomising questions, mixing up entries — Shuffle Lines rearranges your lines into a random sequence in one click, using your browser's randomness.
How to use shuffle lines
- 1. Paste your list, one item per line.
- 2. The lines are shuffled into random order.
- 3. Copy the shuffled list.
When to use Shuffle Lines
Draw names
Randomise a list of names to pick an order or a winner.
Randomise questions
Shuffle a set of questions or prompts so they're not always in the same order.
Mix a playlist or list
Rearrange any list into an unpredictable sequence.
Using it for a draw
Paste the names one per line, shuffle once, and take the first line as the winner (or the first three for three prizes). Every order is equally likely, so it's fair; if the draw needs witnesses, do it on a shared screen. Blank lines are shuffled along with the rest, so remove them first with Remove Empty Lines.
Frequently asked questions
Is the shuffle truly random?
Yes. It uses the Fisher–Yates shuffle with your browser's cryptographic random generator, so every possible order is equally likely.
Can I shuffle again for a new order?
Yes — run it again for a different random arrangement.
Is my list uploaded?
No — shuffling happens in your browser.
