The invisible characters it catches
Text copied from web pages, chat apps and Word often carries characters you can't see: zero-width spaces and joiners, a byte-order mark at the start, and non-breaking spaces that look like ordinary ones. They make a search fail (a word with a zero-width space inside no longer matches the same word typed normally), break a spreadsheet formula or make two identical-looking lines count as different. Text Cleaner deletes the zero-width ones and turns non-breaking spaces into normal spaces, then collapses repeated spaces and limits blank lines to one between paragraphs.
When not to use it
Tabs are turned into single spaces, so don't run it on columns copied from Excel or Google Sheets (they're tab-separated and would merge), or on code where indentation matters, such as Python or YAML. Line breaks inside a paragraph are kept — to join a PDF's broken lines into sentences, use Remove Line Breaks instead.
